MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be working in Washington, D.C. this summer as a research intern for Vencore (a contractor for the Department of Defense) working on cybersecurity and data analytics related projects. In August, I will take a trip to St. Petersburg and take the Trans-Siberian Railway to Beijing, China, where I will be earning a one-year master's degree in Public Policy from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar. After this, I will attend Cambridge University as a Cambridge International Scholar, working with Dr. Daniel Munoz-Espin to more effectively treat cancer using nanoparticles and eventually obtaining my Ph. D in Oncology. I hope to use all of this knowledge to develop and implement safer, more effective cancer treatments while also addressing issues from the policy side as this all relates to healthcare and the healthcare system.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Calhoun Honors College at Clemson has provided opportunities that have changed my life and my future plans. As a participant in EUREKA!, I fostered a love of research, innovation, and discovery. Because of an honors seminar I took, I met one of my favorite professors, Dr. Vladimir Matic, who inspired to minor in Global Politics. As a Dixon Global Policy Scholar, I found a passion for the intersection of public policy and science, specifically related to the medical field. Using Educational Enrichment Travel Grants, I taught English in China, conducted bioengineering research in Singapore, and studied policy in the Balkans for two summers with Dr. Vladimir Matic. If it weren't for these experiences and the Honors College staff, I would not be who I am today or be undertaking my current post-graduate plans.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College has given me so many opportunities that I would not have had otherwise. I have grown much more as a student through a more enriching academic experience, but I also gained a lot of professional development skills. The Honors College enabled me to travel to another country for a summer as well as become involved in many programs outside of the classroom. All of these enhanced my overall experience at Clemson!

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be apart of the incoming class at the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College provided a community in which I could adapt, learn, be challenged, celebrate, travel, and enjoy the four years of my undergrad. Although the special study rooms, events, and dorms certainly helped provide this special infrastructure, it was the faculty and fellow students who supplied the support and encouragement in both my studies and individual pursuits.

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be attending Clemson University Graduate School to obtain my M.S. in Mathematical Sciences. Eventually, I would like to get my Ph. D., focusing on Cryptography and Coding Theory.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College has provided me with endless opportunities that I never imagined I would get the chance to participate in. EUREKA!, Dixon Fellows, the Ambassador Program, and Departmental Honors Research (to name a few) has allowed me to grow as a student, as well as a person.

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: Next year I be pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia.  I was awarded the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship to support my studies.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College enhanced my Clemson experience by providing me with research opportunities early in my college career, supporting my travel to Singapore for a research internship, and surrounding me with a great group of friends!

    Megan HuntNAME: Megan Hunt
    DEGREE: B.S. in Biochemistry
    EMAIL: megan.hunt818@gmail.com

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be going to Johns Hopkins Medical School starting in Fall 2017.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College was central to my collegiate experience. It introduced me to all of my closest friends, informed my academic pursuits, and supported me in my curricular and extracurricular endeavors. I particularly benefited from the Dixon Global Policy Scholar program, as it is impacting how I hope to practice medicine. Not to mention the professors and staff within the Honors College have been amazing resources and supports for me throughout my time here at Clemson. I cannot imagine these 4 years without my involvement in the Honors College!

    Sadler GenschNAME: Sadler Gensch

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be moving to Washington D.C. to work for the Walsh Group, a large general contractor. I will be doing preconstruction work to start.

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: The Honors College impacted me in that it pushed me to think in so many different dimensions. I learned to think about engineering not only from a technical standpoint, but how my other soft skills came into play as well. The Honors College introduced me to some of my best friends, coworkers, and mentors and my experience at Clemson would have looked so much different without it.

    Hilda ChanNAME: Hilda Chan
DEGREE: B.S. in Biochemistry, B.A. in Modern Languages, Chinese Concentration
    EMAIL: chanlhilda@gmail.com

MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I will be pursuing an MD, Ph.D at Baylor College of Medicine starting in July of 2017

HOW THE HONORS COLLEGE HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE: Being a part of the Honors College was a distinguishing feature of my Clemson experience for many reasons, but I think the best part was the ability to shape my education and profile in the ways I wanted it to. I was fortunate to be in a supportive department for my major studies, but I knew I could always go to the Honors College to enhance my experiences in Biochemistry with Conference travel grants and pursuing Departmental Honors. I was able to explore topics which I was not familiar with through an Honors Seminar in Philosophy and by participating in Dixon Fellows for 3 years, and I developed mentoring and leadership skills by acting as a SASH mentor and an Honors Ambassador. Furthermore, being in the Honors College placed me in a cohort of student with a similar love of learning, which allowed me to not only feel comfortable but also allowed me to make life-long friends!
