EFNEP Home

StrawberriesAn estimated one in four South Carolina children live in poverty. Many new families each year find themselves with severely restricted funds to meet the necessities of life. Studies reveal that families need knowledge and skills in nutrition, meal planning, and food buying to insure adequate nutrition when their resources are limited.

Education

Since 1969, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) has educated limited resource families on how to improve their dietary practices and becoe more effective managers of their available resources. EFNEP's primary purpose is to improve diets of limited resource families, thus enabling them to enjoy better health, improved stamina, and increased productivity.

From the hills of Clemson to the South Carolina low country, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program continues to improve the quality of life for limited resource audiences. But EFNEP is more than just a program, it is people making a difference in the lives of others.
