Turfgrass

The Clemson University Turfgrass Program is conducted by an interdisciplinary group of faculty in the departments of Horticulture and Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences. Faculty and staff are located on the main campus at Clemson, as well as at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence, SC. The turfgrass industry is an important part of the economy of South Carolina.

The turfgrass industry includes golf courses, sod production, sports field management and professional lawn care.  Faculty support these industries by conducting basic and applied research and providing outreach and recommendations through Extension. Faculty are also responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate students through academic programs administered through the academic departments.  For more information about academic programs, select a department to the right.
