The education of the National Scholars begins at the top of a ropes course and ends wherever their imagination and creativity take them.
 
A nationally recognized freshman seminar sets the stage, as the scholars explore topics of knowledge, class and power. After their first year ends, the scholars spend several weeks in the summer studying abroad in England and traveling throughout Europe. Maymester Educational Enrichment Expeditions have included exploration of Yellowstone National Park, the Galapagos Islands, and the European Union. Many scholars pursue summer internships involving research or service, allowing them to apply their in-class learning to a real-world setting.
