Maymester Educational Enrichment Expeditions

In addition to the group study abroad in Great Britain after their first year, recent Scholars have enjoyed additional pportunities to participate in study-travel experiences. Small groups of sophomores and juniors work closely with top Clemson faculty to develop a preparatory course that sets the stage for an experiential expedition during Maymester. Scholars delve into the culture, history, politics, art and science of a region and topic for an entire semester before travelling around the world for direct observation of and interaction with the topics they've studied.
Past Maymester experiences have included:
- native and natural history | Alaska
- political, cultural and religious influences of both the East and West | Turkey
- global warming and alternative energy | Iceland
- commercial and military modernization in nothern Europe | Holland, Sweden and Russia
- wildlife, land and natural resource management | Yellowstone National Park
