Matt provides the primary leadership within Clemson Online for academic technologies, instructional media production, open educational resources, writing and publication services, and use of experience design. In addition, Matt and his team plan and promote academic technologies that are effective, sustainable, and consistent with Clemson's culture and works collaboratively to manage campus-wide digital assets. Matt works at developing and implementing strategies that serve as catalysts for faculty innovation and promote positive learning experiences through academic technologies.

Matt has served in various roles throughout all levels of education as an instructor, course designer, faculty advisor, and technology solutions specialist. He served as the Innovative Solutions Administrator at Texas A&M San Antonio, where he researched and developed solutions for initiatives across campus and maintained the public relations aspects of the Information Technology Services Department. Matt was also an Instructional Technology Facilitator with Union County Public Schools in North Carolina, assisting faculty at all levels with technology integrations, best practices through professional development, and system compliances. Prior to these positions, Matt served as an educator.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, attempting to play the guitar, cooking, eating, relaxing, and trying to think of witty things to say about himself in a biography. He is also an avid sports fan and self-proclaimed Star Wars nerd.
