Human Flourishing and Restoration in the Age of Global Warming
September 5-7, 2008
Location: Outdoor Laboratory, Clemson University, Clemson SC
The focus of the conference will be on ideas that connect our current understanding of human flourishing with the phenomena of radical and anthropogenic global climate change. Special attention will be given to issues that arise at the intersection of philosophy, political theory, and the theory and practice of ecological restoration. Keynote speakers include Eric Higgs, Dale Jamieson, Andrew Light, Bryan Norton, and Martha Nussbaum.

South Carolina Water Resources Conference
October 14-15, 2008
Location: Convention Center, North Charleston, SC
The first bi-annual conference for South Carolina will include scientists, engineers, water resources professionals, students and the public to focus on water research and policies vital to the quality of life and economic prosperity of South Carolina. The purpose is to build collaboration among South Carolina universities, municipal water authorities, state and local government officials, state and federal agencies, natural resources professionals, conservation organizations, and community activists.
Abstracts are now being accepted through May 16th.
