Nadim M. Aziz, PhD
Nadim Aziz, Ph.D., is director of the resilient infrastructure focus area for the Restoration Institute and professor and chair of the Civil Engineering Department. His areas of interest include environmental fluid mechanics, sediment transport and scour, contaminated sediments, and hydrologic modeling & design. Classes typically taught are as follows:
- Applied Fluid Mechanics
- Flood Hazards and Protective Design
- Stormwater Management
- Flow in Open Channels
- Mechanics of Sediment Transport
He holds memberships in several national and international societies such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education and the International Water Resources Association.
Dr. Aziz is widely published in numerous journals such as the ASCE Journal of Hydraulic Engineering; ASCE Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering; ASCE Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste Management; the American Journal of Environmental Sciences; and the Environmental Modeling and Assessment Journal.
All of his academic civil engineering degrees were earned at the University of Mississippi.
