Chart Your Future Success in Health Care

Your future in a health profession starts here. With the help of Health Professions Advising, explore the wide array of health care professions to find the right fit for you and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in that field.

Why work in health care?

Many careers in health care offer above-average earnings, opportunities to travel, flexible schedules and more. Perhaps most importantly, the job outlook is strong: Because of an aging population, the health care industry is expanding at a solid pace.

Our health professions advisers provide valuable assistance as students develop their path to a health professions career — from guidance on which major to pursue and courses to take to which activities outside the classroom will enhance their applications for medical school, dental school and other professional schools.

The HPA team advises prospective and current students as well as alumni interested in pursuing careers in the chiropractic medicine, dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology fields.

What Our Students Say

Headshot of Morgan McManus

“Coming into Clemson, I knew that I wanted to be a physician, but I lacked mentors to guide me through the process. I met with a Health Professions Advising adviser my first semester, and they helped me create a four-year plan and recommended pre-health clubs to join. I have gotten great shadowing and clinical opportunities because of my connections at Clemson, and now I feel prepared to apply to medical school.”

Headshot of Raj Dwivedi

“My pre-health journey started out with a lot of uncertainty, but I was able to surround myself with the right people and resources to truly succeed. The HPA team at Clemson has been a key component in me getting into medical school. I have built connections and relationships with other pre-health students that have benefited me throughout my undergraduate studies and will continue to do so after I graduate. ”
