The purpose of this creative inquiry project is to explore the messages being sent to young women in our society and how these messages may impact self-image and self-esteem. There are mixed messages being sent to adolescents in this country via music, video, movies, etc. Many of these media are promoting entertainment that glamorizes misogynistic, violent, promiscuous, and unhealthy behavior. Therefore, we plan to create an avenue for our students to be change agents in our society by producing dynamic educational messages to jumpstart discussion and counter these toxic messages.
