Brackett hallOverview of ePortfolio

Beginning fall 2006, all incoming students are required to develop an electronic portfolio. A student’s ePortfolio is a purposeful collection of work created during the academic career. This ePortfolio will provide students an opportunity to reflect on their work and its relationship to Clemson’s general education program. In addition, the ePortfolio will allow students to highlight individual achievements that occur during their Clemson experience.

What is an ePortfolio?
An ePortfolio is a collection of a student’s work in electronic format.

  1. Supporting files of various formats (text, pictures, video, etc.)

  4. Writing samples (which might include several drafts to show development and improvement)

  5. Projects prepared for class or extracurricular activities

  6. Evidence of creativity and performance

  7. Evidence of extracurricular activities, including examples of leadership

Clemson ePortfolio Resources
This Web site is a great place for you to begin to learn about the ePortfolio. Begin by reading the three easy steps brochure and then the information on competencies. For additional assistance on tagging the competencies visit the student created Competencies Brochure. If additional support is needed you can make an appointment with an ePortfolio mentor or visit the online support center to view a tutorial for all ePortfolio related tasks.

To ensure that you have created an ePortfolio that is representative of your Clemson Experiences you should begin your ePortfolio the first semester of  your freshman year.
