Freshman Summer Reading Checklist
- Attend Freshman Summer Orientation and receive a complimentary copy of the Summer Reading Book. (If you are not planning to attend Orientation during the summer, please email Casey Berkshire with your CU ID number, phone number and address, and you will be mailed a copy of the book by late July.)
- Complete the reading by August 19, 2008.
- Log onto Blackboard and locate your writing assignment, instructions and due date for submitting your essay through the Blackboard Web site. Also, locate your small group discussion session location for August 19, 2008.
- Prepare your “QQTT”: have written out on paper, one QUESTION, one QUOTE, and two TALKING POINTS from the book that you bring to Convocation on August 19, 2008.
- Attend Convocation on August 19, 208, at 1:00 p.m. and your small discussion group immediately following the author’s address. You’ll use your QQTT during the discussion group, so make sure you come prepared!
- Remember to bring an electronic copy of your essay with you to campus when you arrive. Following the author’s address and your small group discussion, you’ll be given the opportunity to revise or make additions to your essay for submission into your Electronic Portfolio during the fall semester.
