Dairy Scholarships Available to AVS Students

Council of Milk Producers League of SC Endowed Scholarship - Two @ $1,000
These scholarships are awarded to freshmen in AVS in Dairy Business or to an upperclassman with a GPR of 2.5.

SC Dairy Technology Society Annual Scholarship - $500
Awarded to an entering freshman in AVS majoring in Dairy Business. Selection is based on predicted GPR and interest in dairy technology or financial need.

W. Carl Wiggins - $1,000
Awarded to an individual with a dairy business concentration.

James Bartlett Garrison Memorial Scholarship - Two @ $2,500
These nonrenewable scholarships are awarded to Anderson County entering freshmen in AVS in Dairy Business or SC residents meeting criteria.

SC Jersey Cattle Club (Robert L. Steer) Scholarship - $750
This is a renewable scholarship for an AVS student in Dairy Business. Selection is based on scholarship, leadership, character, dedication to agriculture and an interest in the Jersey breed.

Hampton A. Whetsell, III Memorial Fund - $1,000
Annual scholarship awarded to a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in AVS in Dairy Business. First priority will be given to students from Orangeburg County with the above criteria.

SC Dairy Association Scholarship - $1,000
A renewable scholarship awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in AVS in Dairy Business. Selection is based on GPR, character and an expressed interest in the Dairy Industry.

Pauline Hanckel Dairy Memorial Scholarship - $1,550
A renewable scholarship awarded to a junior or senior in AVS in Dairy Business based on scholarship and potential for contributions to the field of dairy science.

Dairymen Inc. Scholarship - $200
This renewable scholarship is awarded to an outstanding junior or senior in AVS in Dairy Business. Selection is based on merit, scholarship, leadership, character, dedication to concepts of cooperation and efforts toward distinction in Dairy Business.

Benjamin P. Forbes Chocolate Leadership Award - $300
A scholarship for an outstanding sophomore in AVS in Dairy Business. The recipient is selected by the Dairy Science faculty on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character and financial need.

John C. Heustess Endowed Memorial Award - Four @ $200
To recognize four active members of the Dairy Science Club. Recipients are chosen by the Club.
