Prof. Gianiodis joined the Clemson faculty in 2006 after receiving my PhD in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Georgia under the direction of Gideon Markman. Prior to my academic career, he spent 10+ years in banking working at various positions including retail branch manager, project manager, and leadership development personnel manager. He completed his MBA at Queens University of Charlotte and his B.A. in political science from Dickinson College. During his time at Dickinson, he spent his junior year abroad in Bologna, Italy, taking classes at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

 Research Interests

His research interests lie at the intersection of strategy, innovation management and entrepreneurship. In particular, I study market entrance of new and growing ventures, as well as the commercialization of technology. Current projects examine the competitive dynamics of IPOs in China, the affects of academic entrepreneurship on commercialization and appropriation, open innovation in the global auto industry, and models related to market entry timing.
