Advanced
Writing Program 2004 National Certificate of Excellence Award Winner The Clemson University Advanced Writing Program includes English 304 (Business Writing) and English 314 (Technical Writing). These courses are required by some majors, and students in other majors use them to satisfy the University's writing requirement. Students in engineering, science, and agriculture enroll in technical writing, and business students in business writing. Most of the students are juniors or seniors. To meet the demand for the courses, the English Department offers about 120 sections each year. The main goals of the courses are: * To prepare students for the kinds of writing they will encounter in the workplace. * Through
programs such as the Guest Speaker Program and client based projects,
to make courses as relevant as possible to business and technical
writing students. Click the links at left to find out how you can get involved in the program's initiatives to enhance Clemson's workplace writing instruction. Dr. Summer Taylor,
The Advanced Writing Program is supported by the Pearce Center for Professional Communication and the Campbell Endowment for Technical Communication. |
