Lance Howard Lance Howard teaches introductory geography, as well as courses in cultural, urban, and historical geography. He is a specialist in the interplay between local communities and regional and global systems, as well as sustainable development. Dr. Howard, who has done field work in both Mexico and Brazil, has written and presented papers on such diverse topics as the naturalization of the pepper tree and photographic representation and its importance to geography. He has also taught at Anderson College, Tri-County Technical College, and the University of California-Los Angeles.
