Christopher Grau

Dr. Grau received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and his B.A. from New York University. Chris specializes in ethics (including applied ethics), topics in metaphysics (personal identity, free will), and philosophy & film. Some recent publications include: "Irreplaceability & Unique Value," Philosophical Topics, "There is no 'I' in Robot: Robots & Utilitarianism," IEEE Intelligent Systems, and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the Morality of Memory," Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism. He also edited Philosophers Explore The Matrix (Oxford University Press, 2005). Prior to coming to Clemson, Chris was Visiting Assistant Professor at UNC – Chapel Hill and Assistant Professor at Florida International University in Miami.
