Immigration Services (IS), part of the Office of Global Engagement, supports international students, scholars, and faculty on F-1, J-1, H-1B, and other employment visas. We’re here to help you navigate U.S. immigration regulations and make your transition to Clemson as smooth as possible.
Our IS team serves as a key resource to the Clemson community in the following ways:
- Advises international students, scholars, faculty, and University departments on compliance with U.S. immigration laws and regulations related to F, J, H-1B and other visa categories.
- Serves as the campus liaison to U.S. immigration agencies.
- Recommends and approves immigration benefits.
- Verifies, tracks, and submits visa status notifications through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), as required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
- Processes DS-2019s, I-20s, travel signatures, and letters needed for travel, employment, maintaining status, social security numbers, and other immigration related matters
- Files H-1B petitions for eligible faculty and scholars.
- Conducts workshops and orientation sessions for international students, scholars, and Clemson departments.
