ProfileWith a BFA in Film Production from University of Colorado, Boulder and a MS from Clemson in Graphic Communications, Erica\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s background in visual communications includes feature film production, web design, print buyer, marketer, and graphic design for print. Prior to becoming a teacher, Erica owned a film production company, Galatia Films, where she produced documentary feature films and a television series for children. Because she wanted to delve into more diverse projects, Erica formed Ignite Creatives in 2010.
At Clemson, Erica teaches courses in Photography, Video, and Web Development. One of her current research interests is entrepreneurship within the Graphic Communciations industries. She recently spent a year interviewing entrepreneurs in order to launch a new course for Clemson Graphic Communications majors focused on developing the entrepreneurial mindset for both future business owners and for strong upper management intrapreneurs. Another of Erica\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s research interests is how color management ties across all the media formats and the feasibility of color branding across multiple mediums including: movies, websites, print, and product packaging. Additionally, she has been studying the use of social media to bridge the gap between formal and informal learning in the higher education classroom.
Starting in the summer of 2013, Erica began working towards her PhD in Learning Sciences within the School of Education at Clemson University where she intends to continue to develop both her teaching and researching skills.
Current research projects include entrepreneurship education, color management across all media including digital devices, and social media anaylsis to understand top influencers within industries.
