About Research

The research and scholarship produced at the Charles H. Houston Center is designed to inform various stakeholders at Clemson University, in the state of South Carolina, around the country, and abroad about the Black experience in education. To accomplish this goal, faculty and staff at the Charles H. Houston Center pursue the following tasks: (a) produce and submit manuscripts to various journals aligned with the priorities of the Center; (b) produce and disseminate scholarly information; (c) collect, obtain, and analyze data aligned with the Center’s priorities; (d) pursue funding opportunities to conduct research and implement programs; and (e) produce scholarly publications.

Editorial Board

To assist the Charles H. Houston Center in developing scholarly publications, an Editorial Board evaluates the quality of manuscripts that are submitted for publication and produced at the Center. The Editorial Board also provides recommendations for improving the Center’s publications and their scholarly impact.
