Can I enroll my family members on my state insurance coverage?


Eligible employees are able to enroll qualified family members on their coverage within the enrollment deadline, or within 31 days a special eligibility situation.

Qualified family members include:


  • Lawful spouse
  • Common law spouse
  • Former spouse as ordered by a divorce decree


  • Natural, step, adopted, and/or foster children
  • Children the employee has legal custody or guardianship of
  • Children must be under the age of 26*
  • *children incapable of self-support may continue to be enrolled after the age of 26

If an employee adds their qualified family member to their coverage, the employee must provide dependent verification documentation
