Scholarships

The Clemson education is quite a deal, however, any bit of scholarship money helps. The one of the two most common scholarships is The LIFE Scholarship which provides $4,700 and $300 in books per year (it is divided equally between the fall and spring semesters) for four years of college. Only South Carolina residents who meet the requirements are eligible for this scholarship. In order to receive the LIFE scholarship every year, a student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and earn 30 credit hours each year.
The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship is more competitive to attain, but pays $6700 per year (divided equally between the fall and spring semesters). In order to receive this scholarship a high school senior must have a cumulative 1200 on the SAT or 27 on the ACT, be in the top five percent at the end of his/her sophomore or junior year, have a 3.5/4.0 GPA, and must have completed the application for the scholarship and met all requirements by January 15, of his senior year.

Private scholarships are also a great resource. The best places to find information on scholarships is the Internet and your high school guidance office. One piece of advice… start early! Good Luck!
