The ideal engineer is a composite...He is not a scientist, he is not a mathematician, he is not a sociologist or a writer; but he may use the knowledge and techniques of any or all of these disciplines in solving engineering problems.
- N. W. Dougherty

  • Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

Welcome to the new class of 2012 and greetings to all prospective students: freshmen and transfer students. All students who desire to major in engineering at Clemson University are initially admitted to the College of Engineering and Science's General Engineering Program (GE). The goals of this program are to provide students with an opportunity to explore various engineering fields while gaining a sound academic preparation for engineering study. In order to meet those goals, we provide a variety of services centered around three main areas: Academic Advising, Career Counseling and Engineering Education. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to making your transition to Clemson a success. If you have any suggestions to help us improve our services to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
