About OrganicPad
OrganicPad is an interactive tool that is used to create molecular drawings.
History
OrganicPad was started in the Fall of 2006 by Sam Bryfczynski. It began as a project for CpSc 481: Developing Educational Tablet PC Applications. With the guidance of Dr. Roy Pargas and Dr. Melanie Cooper, OrganicPad was given shape and direction. Following the Fall semester, Dr. Melanie Cooper began funding the project. In the Spring of 2007, the project was first tested with a classroom of Chemistry students. The response was very positive. Over the Summer of 2007, paper and poster proposals were accepted by several conferences such as PLT 2007 and WIPTE 2007. A paper will also be give at the New Orleans ACS meeting. A proposal for OrganicPad development was recently funded by the NSF. With this funding OrganicPad will continue to be developed for years to come. Development now been underway for over a year now and it is getting better everyday.
