Features
OrganicPad contains many unique features that separate it from other Chemistry programs on the market currently.
| Feature List | ||
| Pen Technology | OrganicPad was designed for use with the Tablet PC. By taking advantage of the tablet PC's unique features, users can quickly and freely create molecules just as they would on paper. | |
| Real-time Evaluation | Teachers are able to engage students in interactive activities. Teachers may set up a server locally and ask students to connect to it. With students connected, teachers may ask students to create molecules. Students will then build their drawings and submit them to the teacher. OrganicPad can then check the student submissions against drawings the teacher has deemed as solutions. The teacher can then see which students are struggling and what mistakes the students are making. | |
| Distance Learning | Because the technology revolves around HTTP, users do not necessarily have to be in the same physical location. Anyone with internet access and the teacher's address may participate in exercises. | |
| Real-time feedback | By clicking the "Check" button, OrganicPad will check the drawn molecule against several of Chemistry's more prominent rules and alert the user of a violation. | |
| Custom Lessons | Users are able to create interactive lessons through OrganicPad. These lesson help others create specific molecule(s). The lessons break the process down into steps and won't let the user move on in the lesson until the current step is complete. | |
| 3D Representation | Users are able to take their 2D drawings into the 3rd dimension to better analyze the molecules structure. | |
| Teacher Created Quizzing | Teachers may create multi-question quizzes. Teachers have the ability to adjust a number of variables about the quizzes such as which atoms the students may use and if the students can use the "Check" feature. These quizzes are then uploaded to our servers for the students to complete and submit. | |
| Database Integration | All of the submissions and communication between teachers and students are recorded in our databases. Teachers may then review and analyze the submissions of there students. | |
| Replayability | All of the submissions from users may be replayed and analyzed. This means that teachers can not only view a student's final work but also all of the steps they took to get there. This included structure drawing, erasing, and annotations. With this tool, teachers will be able to gain insight into the student's thought process and methods. | |
