The Outdoor Lab continues to improve its facilities. Due to these frequent enhancements, not all facilities may be available at all times. Please check back with this listing or talk with one of our meeting planners about the newest and best the Lab has to offer.

Meeting Places

Bowfin - This lakeside chalet is the ideal meeting, social and conference space for 12 to 25 people (1100 square feet). A stacked stone fireplace, hardwood floors, porcelain tile baths (2) and large carpeted activity loft compliment this beautiful building. The building has central heat and air and large windows that overlook gorgeous views of the lake and the Clemson forest. Bowfin can be set up as a large living room/reception area for an informal gathering of guests or as a classroom-style conference room for up to 25 students. A full-line of audio-visual equipment is available for use at an additional charge. Group food service from beverage service to full meal is available. This service can be set-up indoors, outdoors or outdoors under shelter. The cabin has close parking in a large well-lit parking lot and is accessible to persons with mobility impairments.

Betty's Place - Another unique conference and meeting room situated conveniently between Camp Hope and Camp Logan. The heated and air conditioned room seats up to 40 persons theatre-style and has large restrooms and a food service area in the rear of the room. Building features include a large front porch with seating area and a 650 square foot deck easily reached through French doors. The deck is ideal for outdoor meetings or any type of food service. A full-line of audio-visual equipment is available for use at an additional charge. Betty's Place is close to our large well-lit parking lot and is accessible to persons with mobility impairments.

Kresge Hall - Built on the shore of Lake Hartwell in 1980; it's flying buttress construction remains an architectural masterpiece. Kresge Hall is the largest building at the Outdoor Lab and serves as our dining/banquet/meeting facility as well as housing our business offices. In addition to its lakefront location and large patio, Kresge's massive stone fireplace is one of the most beautiful anywhere. The ability to provide both meeting and meal service in the same room, make Kresge ideal for a variety of functions. With its picturesque location, Kresge Hall is the ideal spot for weddings and special celebrations. The building is heated and air-conditioned and roaring fires are included when weather permits. Our versatile food service staff can prepare and serve almost anything--just ask. A full-line of audio-visual equipment is available for use at an additional charge.

Katydid - Meeting Space for up to 40 people (theatre style). Room can be set-up any number of ways for use as a classroom, theatre, or food service. Comfortable conference -type tables and padded chairs are available along with a full-line of audiovisual equipment. This room has one large restroom. The room has excellent lighting, wall-to-wall carpeting and is air-conditioned. It was remodeled in 2001 and is accessible to persons with mobility-impairments. Group food service from beverage service to full meal is available.

Cabins - Seventeen cabins are available equipped with 10 single beds, dressers, chairs, a large study, bathroom, heat and lighting. Cabins may be used for sleeping, meetings or other program activities.

Inside a SuiteSuites - Four cabins house our finest sleeping quarters. Each cabin has two one-bedroom suites for a total of four private suites. Each suite consists of a bedroom with deluxe queen or twin size beds, designer furniture and accoutrements and a separate living area with a desk, chairs, and comfortable sleeper sofa. Each suite has central heat and air, is fully carpeted and has a large private bathroom. Suites are rented with towels and linens. Complimentary brewed coffee service is provided.

Our cabins and suites are not designed for co-ed habitation.  If your group includes unrelated males and females, please plan to house them in separate cabins.

Shelters / Camp Areas

Hopa Cabana, Kingfisher Landing, Quail Hollow, Eagle's Nest, The Beehive, Cannon Chapel and amphitheater - In addition to the facilities mentioned above, the Outdoor Lab has a variety of shelters, woodsy meeting spaces and sheltered camping areas to meet the needs of any group. These buildings and gathering places provide opportunities to structure outings and "innings" that will create lasting impressions on all involved.
