Two Graduate Programs

The Department of Biological Sciences offers two on-campus graduate programs:

  • Biological Sciences (M.S. and Ph.D.)
  • Microbiology (M.S. and Ph.D.)

The goals of our programs are to develop scientists with:

  • expertise in a specific research area
  • strong interdisciplinary skills in research design
  • critical thinking
  • communication skills

Online Masters

The Department of Biological Sciences also offers an online, non-thesis M.S. in Biological Sciences designed specifically for K–12 teachers and others interested in biological sciences. Learn more about this programPlease note that the admissions procedure, curriculum, and requirements for the online program are different from the on-campus graduate programs in this department.
