The graduate program in Animal and Veterinary Sciences offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, which generally require 2 and 3 years minimum residence in the program, respectively. Students will be required to complete a core set of graduate-level courses in animal science, biochemistry and experimental statistics in addition to the courses recommended by their advisory committee.
M.S. students will complete a thesis project and defend the thesis in an oral exam. Ph.D. students, in addition to any course work, will be required to successfully pass a set of written exams and an oral comprehensive exam prior to completion of their dissertation research. The dissertation defense will be a final oral exam.
