Grant Description

Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI) - This program is part of a new program within the CSREES covering "Integrate Organic Production." It has been combined with the Organic Transistions Program (ORG) under this new category. The purpose of the OREI fund is to provide support to research and extension programs so that producers and processors who are already practicing organic standards will be able to grow and market higher quality organic food, feed, and fiber.

In 2004, $2.9 million was availabe in funding.
