Transforming
the earth's mineral and organic materials into advanced engineering
materials and specialized products. Developing automotive and
aerospace components. Lighting the way for revolutionary photonics
research. Creating high-performance biomimetic materials and
processes.
Clemson's
Material Science and Engineering program is designed for students
with an avid interest in how and why materials behave the way
they do and a desire to be at the forefront of this interdisciplinary
21st century research field.
Research
in the School of Materials Science and Engineering is as diverse
as our faculty interests. Faculty in MSE currently conduct research
on ceramics, glasses, polymers, photonics, medical textiles,
biomaterials, fiber science, thin flims and metallurgy.
