New F&A Rate Agreement Released

APRIL 2007- After using a provisional rate for some time, Clemson has at last finalized our negotiated indirect cost rate for the next few years. Several important changes have been made:

As of April 1, 2007, the Agricultural Research Rate will no longer be used. Upon receiving Federal approval of our new negotiated rates, Clemson will no longer have a separate rate for Agricultural research. Projects awarded after April 1, 2007 involving this type of research will be included in and subject to the 47% Organized Research (OR) rate listed below.

So, as of April 1, 2007, our rates will be as follows:

Organized Research (OR): 47%
Instruction (IDR): 45%*
Other Sponsored Activities (OSA): 33.8%
Off Campus Projects: 26%

*This rate is only used for classes that involve college credit. This rate cannot be used for K-12 projects or other research.

The NEW RATES FOR FY2008 will be:

Organized Research (OR): 47.5%
Instruction (IDR): 45%*
Other Sponsored Activities (OSA): 34%
Off Campus Projects: 26%

Also, please remember that the rates are scheduled to rise again in FY2009 and FY2010. Please call or email your grants coordinator with questions.
