Bonnie Holaday (BS, Arizona State; MN, UCLA; DNS, UCSF) is a pediatric nurse interested in community research related to preventive services and to care for children with chronic illnesses and their families.
A professor of nursing and formerly dean of graduate studies at Clemson, Prof. Holaday has been a faculty member at Utah, Emory, UCLA, and UCSF. She was also chair of the School of Nursing at Vanderbilt and Wichita State, and she has been a visiting professor in Israel, Japan, and Thailand.
Among other public and professional service, Dr. Holaday has served as a member if the U.S. Bureau of Maternal and Child Health's panel to develop national nursing practice and performance standards for early intervention, was elected as the founding secretary of the Society of Pediatric Nursing and was also elected as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Holaday has served as principal investigator on grants funded by the U.S. Division of Maternal and Child Health, the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, California State Department of Health Services and the Kansas Health Foundation.
The author of over 100 publications, Dr. Holaday is currently writing articles on health services for children and assent of children to participate in research. She has twice been honored with the Book of the Year Award from the American Journal of Nursing.
