Dana Southern (BA, UNC-Asheville) is the community outreach coordinator for Building Dreams Mentoring Program and Safe Families. Ms. Southern is engaged in community mobilization and volunteer recruitment for both initiatives.  She serves as training coordinator and primary liaison with Greenville County Schools. She also provides ongoing match support for participants in Building Dreams.  With strong interest in support for families and children, she has extensive experience as a board member of the Ronald McDonald House of Greenville and the Make-a-Wish Foundation of South Carolina. She volunteers at Langston Charter Middle School and Mauldin United Methodist Church.  Before moving to S.C., her prior work experience included intake assessment, suicide hotline, and admissions at Charter Hospital in Asheville, N.C.
