USDA Rural Development Program Assistance
The CIECD Innovation Center has been assisting the citizens of South Carolina since its inception in early 2007. The primary funder for the Innovation Center is the United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development. This partnership with Clemson University provides a synergistic approach to addressing resource needs.
USDA – Rural Development programs are divided into four primary areas. The concentrations are Housing and Community Facilities, Business and Cooperative, Utilities and Community/Empowerment. All are primarily addressed through either matching grant or guaranteed loan programs. In certain cases both grant and loan programs can be coupled to create a comprehensive package. The Innovation Center is prepared to assist with the planning and application process for both matching grants and guaranteed loans.
