The Grain Sorghum variety test is made up of tests planted at several locations throughout the state. Multiple-location data is presented which can be used as a basis for variety selection. The locations are as follows: Blackville - Southern coastal plain dry land (Edisto REC); Florence - Northern coastal plain dry land (Pee Dee REC); Pendleton - Piedmont upland dry land (Simpson Experiment Station) and Olanta - Northern Coastal Plain Dry Land (Kelley Farms).
Below is the data we are reporting in 2016. We experienced severe drought at the upstate location which severely effected the uniformity of the tests grown there. Hurricane Matthew destroyed the Double Crop tests planted at Florence and Blackville.
