A Clemson University Living and Learning Community

"Winner of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)
Community of the Month Award for Augusut, 2006."

The Clemson University Living and Learning Community originated in the Fall of 2005. The Civics and Service House is for academically talented, community-minded and civically engaged students.  While living in the Clemson House, community members develop and participate in community and public service projects on Clemson's campus and in local communities across South Carolina. Community members will also participate in group activities such as seminars, workshops, film viewings, field trips, and alternative breaks.  The Civics and Service House is open to all service-oriented students, regardless of major.  The program offers students an opportunity to engage in service projects, explore public service career options, investigate social problems, become more involved in the Clemson-area community, and develop friendships with other civic-minded students in an enhanced learning environment.

Here are some quotes from those living in the Civics and Service House this year:

"The CASH (Civics and Service House) is a great place to live because you get to meet tons of new freshmen and live with the sophomores who already know what's going on. It's a good introduction to campus"
-- Shannon Carroll, Freshman

"I love the CASH ( Civics and Service House) because it gave me an opportunity to meet people who love giving back to the community as much as I do. Not to mention that these are some of the most amazing and fun people that I have ever met. I knew within the first three weeks of being at Clemson that I had made life-long bonds and I know that with each semester they will only grow stronger."
-- Maddison Wisher, Freshman

"Living in the Civics and Service House has provided me with an opportunity to meet new people, make connections with the community, and feel more connected to Clemson University."
-- Scott Dover, Transfer student
