Why Nutrition, Diet, and Health Outreach?

Current national health trends reflect:

  • Increases in adult and childhood overweight and obesity rates
  • Low levels of physical activity
  • Low nutritional quality of diets
  • Increases in obesity-related diseases like diabetes

Local efforts of nutrition and health educators, collectively working with people of the community toward a single goal, can ultimately improve the overall health of the nation.
