Research: Reviews & Announcements

Research in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences embraces the philosophy of Thomas Green Clemson as it uses the latest technology and science to solve real world problems. Interdisciplinary studies advance the scientific frontier in food, fiber and fuel production; preservation and restoration of the environment; and improvement of health. The College is uniquely organized to contain all the life-related disciplines which synergize into collaborative approaches to address the complex issues facing society.  These issues range in scope from the molecular, to the ecosystem, to those with global dimensions. 

Research support comes from a variety of resources including federal and state competitive grants, industrial sources, foundations, and appropriated funds. Principal investigators are supported with state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, and grant administration and proposal development services are provided.

The College’s research community reaches across 6 departments and is made up of approximately 211 faculty and 550 graduate students. In addition, there are a variety of research opportunities for undergraduate students.
