Desmond Layne (State Horticulture Program Team Leader and Fruit Specialist, Department of Horticulture) and Daniele Bassi (University of Milan, Italy) edited this book with contributions of 49 authors from 9 countries. This is the most comprehensive text on peach ever produced and includes nearly 300 color plates and a chapter on the history and cultivation of peach in China going back to 1100 B.C. translating original documents into English for the first time.
