Ph.D. Candidate Successfully Defends Dissertation

April Joice, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Ph.D. candidate from Dr. James Morris' laboratory, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on March 29th. April obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She joined the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University in August of 2007 and Dr. James Morris' laboratory the following year. April's dissertation was entitled "Investigations of Trypanosoma brucei Hexokinases: Localization, Oligomerization, and Inhibition."
