South Carolina Center of Excellence for Adolescent Literacy and Learning

The mission of the South Carolina Center of Excellence for Adolescent Literacy and Learning at Clemson University is to improve adolescent literacy and learning, and thereby adolescent achievement. At the conclusion of the two years of training, participants will serve as Teaching Consultants for their schools and districts.

Our goals include:

• Improve students’ learning and achievement by improving content area teaching and learning.
• Expand the professional roles of teachers.
• Build capacity to improve teaching and learning in schools and districts through the development of Teaching Consultants in the content areas of English/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
