Admission Requirements

Incoming Freshmen

For freshman applicants, the following factors are considered:

  • Class standing
  • Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
  • High school curriculum
  • Grades
  • Choice of major

When applying to Clemson, freshman applicants should:

  • Submit a completed online application
  • Send an official high school transcript with senior year courses listed
  • Request official SAT or ACT scores to be sent directly from the test agency.

Students Changing Majors within the University

  • When space is available, students with less than 50 credit hours earned may change majors into Health Science with a minimum cumulative grade-point ratio of 2.25
  • Students with 50 or more credit hours may apply for a change-of major into Health Science when space is available based on the following restrictions:
    1. Completion of the Health Science Mathematics and Statistics Requirements and the General Education Natural Science Requirement
    2. Minimum cumulative grade-point ratio of 2.5
    3. Submission of a 1–3-page document detailing why the applicant desires to major in one of the Health Science concentrations and how this major would support his/her career goals

Students Transferring from Other Colleges and Universities

To be considered for transfer admission, candidates should have:

  • Completed a year of college study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of transferable work)
  • Earned a cumulative grade point average of approximately 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred).
  • Completed all freshman-level courses in English, science and mathematics for their intended major at Clemson
