Admission Requirements
Incoming Freshmen
For freshman applicants, the following factors are considered:
- Class standing
- Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
- High school curriculum
- Grades
- Choice of major
When applying to Clemson, freshman applicants should:
- Submit a completed online application
- Send an official high school transcript with senior year courses listed
- Request official SAT or ACT scores to be sent directly from the test agency.
Students Changing Majors within the University
- When space is available, students with less than 50 credit hours earned may change majors into Health Science with a minimum cumulative grade-point ratio of 2.25
- Students with 50 or more credit hours may apply for a change-of major into Health Science when space is available based on the following restrictions:
- Completion of the Health Science Mathematics and Statistics Requirements and the General Education Natural Science Requirement
- Minimum cumulative grade-point ratio of 2.5
- Submission of a 1–3-page document detailing why the applicant desires to major in one of the Health Science concentrations and how this major would support his/her career goals
Students Transferring from Other Colleges and Universities
To be considered for transfer admission, candidates should have:
- Completed a year of college study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of transferable work)
- Earned a cumulative grade point average of approximately 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred).
- Completed all freshman-level courses in English, science and mathematics for their intended major at Clemson
