World In Motion Training 2011

On December 15, 2011 an Upstate South Carolina Integrative STEM Workshop was held at Powdersville High School in Powdersville, SC. This workshop was coordinated and hosted by Pat Bobbitt, Science Coach, Anderson District #1. The instructor for this workshop was Ken Francis, Program Developer, K-12 Education Programs Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International. Teachers from schools in Anderson and Pickens Counties participated in this workshop. Mr. Francis led the teachers through two activities, the “A World in Motion (AWIM)” Gravity Cruiser Design Challenge and the AWIM Flying Glider Challenge. The workshop prepared teachers to return to their respective schools and use these activities with their students.
