The South Carolina Botanical Garden is a place where classrooms can have no desks or walls and where students and adults alike discover the ways and wonders of plants, inside and outdoors. The Garden's mission is to promote the enjoyment, understanding and conservation of the natural world. Classes are available for every age, interest and skill level with garden educators.

The Children’s Garden is a unique natural, playful space specifically designed for children but intended to be enjoyed by all visitors. It is a place for unlimited whimsical, weird and wonderful adventures in the natural world.
The Natural Heritage Garden provides an outdoor classroom with unparalleled learning experiences. It creates an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate classes in Biological Science, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant and Environmental Science, Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and Plant Materials to experience firsthand the ecosystems found in South Carolina. Local elementary, middle and high school groups can also benefit from the establishment of the Natural Heritage Garden through unique teaching, research and demonstration opportunities.
