Fluttering spring breezes, pleasurable temperatures, and gardens resplendent with awe-inspiring blooms are all part of the enchanted atmosphere of the Garden Gala. Join the South Carolina Botanical Garden, volunteers, staff, and FRIENDS on May 11 at 6 p.m. for Moonlight & Magnolias: Enchanted Garden Gala. The Gala is in celebration of the many spectacular spaces within the South Carolina Botanical Garden. This year’s Gala will help raise funds for the continued maintenance, growth, and sustainability of the Garden.
Please plan to join us in a celebration of the garden with special guest speaker Charlie Williams aka “Andre Michaux”. The Enchanted Garden Gala will take place at the Fran Hanson Visitor Center, the former Southern Living Showcase Home located in the Garden. The evening will include a silent auction, live entertainment, dinner, cocktails, and the opportunity to learn about the new and ongoing garden projects enriching our community. Attire for the evening will be elegant casual.
The cuisine for the evening will feature South Carolina cuisine, beer, and wine supporting local producers while providing the finest quality products. The intent of serving slow food is prominent, as the garden supports the preservation of local and regional farming, as well as the environmental stewardship and value-added opportunities associated with sustainable agriculture.
Music for the evening will be provided by the Clemson University Jazz Combo. While you are enjoying the beautiful sounds we encourage you to meander through our silent auction tables. Auction offerings include a BMW weekend Ultimate Driving Experience, Four Clubhouse passes for the BMW Charity Pro-AM (all 4 days), Green Fees for four at Falcon's Lair Golf Club, City Scape Winery, LLC- Winetasting Gift Certificate for up to twelve people, Gift Certificates for ACE Hardware, Four Rounds of Golf at Oconee County Country Club, Backyard Expedition with Patrick McMillan of Expeditions with Patrick McMillan, and more arriving daily.
Gala tickets initially will be offered to Friends of the Garden for $75 each and whole-table reservations can be accommodated as well. Community members are strongly encouraged to become Friends of the Garden and purchase tickets soon, as tickets are in limited supply and tables will sell out quickly.
