Spring Concert Series 2013
Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets- it’s time for our Spring Concert Series! Our concerts are a great place to relax on a Friday night and enjoy the Garden. Admission is free and refreshments will be available for purchase. Come and celebrate spring, nature, and culture with us!
March 29-Katie & Larry
We are so excited to have Katie & Larry return to our concert series AND to do the honor of opening the Series!!!
Katie and Larry met each other in September of 2010 during a musical gig at Brown Street Club in downtown Greenville, SC. The two were introduced to each other on stage and performed, "Honky Tonk Women" together before they even had their first conversation. From there they began a strong musical connection. They spent many hours on Katie's couch sharing music and writing together. Their friendship flourished along with the music they shared, and that December they performed their first gig at Brown Street Club as a duo. Their music continues to evolve and expand in all the genres . . .

April 12-UnderTeaux
UnderTeaux, is an exciting blues band from Clemson, SC, and have played together since 2005 (formerly The Hoodoo Hounds). Their musical influences vary, but include the pre-war urban blues of Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Johnson, and Lightnin' Hopkins; the post-war Chicago styles of Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy II, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Paul Butterfield; British artists such has Eric Clapton and John Mayall; legendary Southern artists such as the Allman Brothers and Stevie Ray Vaughan; and American iconoclasts such as Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. UnderTeaux has recorded several original songs whose lyrics deal with traditional blues themes such as crossroads, tribulation, mojos and black cat bones.
April 19-CU String Ensemble (The Disorderly Conductor and a Case of Domestic Violins)
Disorderly… is a student ensemble at Clemson University that plays music from both the contra dance and English Country Dance traditions. The former is somewhat similar to bluegrass, with Scots-Irish roots and a little contemporary sound mixed in. It is music designed for dancing, so audience members are encouraged to get up and move! The group also plays English Country Dance music, which is familiar to moviegoers from movies such as "Pride and Prejudice."
April 26-CU Jazz Ensemble
Join Monty Craig and his musicians in the amphitheater for a relaxing evening of jazz and entertainment.
The Clemson Jazz Combo is an ensemble emphasizes improvisation, group interaction, and includes solo transcription and analysis.
No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at The Garden Gazebo during the concerts.
May 3-Ali Riehm
We are honored to have Clemson's own Ali Riehm performing in the garden.
