RISE exists to support first-year STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) students. At this time, RISE supports the following disciplines—Engineering, School of Computing, Chemistry, Mathematical Sciences, Physics & Astronomy, Biological Sciences, Genetics & Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, and Pre-Professional Health Studies.

You can sign-up to be in the RISE program by selecting RISE as your first choice on your housing application.

Yes. If you choose to live in a living-learning community, like RISE, you will be able to register for housing before students not selecting a living-learning community on the housing application. 2021-2022 Housing Application dates can be found on the Clemson Housing page.

Your Housing priority is established by the date you submitted your application to the University for admission. Students are encouraged to apply to RISE upon acceptance to their program of study.

You may select another first-year student as a roommate. If you request a specific roommate, your housing priority will be determined by the earliest admission application date. Both individuals must be ineligible RISE majors.

 Yes. Academics are critical to your success, and so is fun! Trivia nights, game nights, tailgates, intramural teams are just a few ways RISE students have fun and engage with their fellow peers.

 Yes. Honors students can participate in RISE as a first-time freshman. If you choose to be a RISE student you will live in Byrnes or Lever Hall in the Bryan Mall area. You will have the added benefit of having access to both Honors and RISE program services, events, and activities.

Yes. You can find RISE students in organizations all across campus—from athletics to orchestra to discipline-specific honors societies.

RISE offers a unique range of services and events. The fee helps cover the cost of in-hall tutoring services, workshops, industry tours and events, leadership development opportunities, special course offerings, faculty partnerships, and support staff. The $500 one-time fee is an all-inclusive fee for participation in the program.

Yes! CLEMSON RISE is dedicated to supporting all students. Needs-based scholarships are available – students must fill out an application. Applications for the fee waiver must be submitted by May 7th, and students will be notified on or before May 14th. Feel free to reach out to CLEMSON RISE staff with questions or to learn more –
