Strategic Plan

Consistent with Clemson University’s vision of becoming a top 20 national public university, we will be a world-class leader in science and engineering education, attracting superior students and leading scholars, producing graduates who are prepared to succeed, and providing innovative lifelong educational opportunities. We will be internationally recognized for scholarly endeavor, conducting cutting edge research in science and engineering, and meeting the technological and scientific research needs of industry, government, and society.

Vision for the CoES

“Connecting intellectual and economic development through innovative research and education”

The CoES will be a nationally recognized model of a strong and diverse community of creative thinkers and leaders shaping the future of society through innovative, collaborative, and high quality research and education in sciences and engineering.

Seven Goals

Goal 1: The College will recruit and retain nationally competitive faculty, staff, and students.
Goal 2: The College will be a national model for diversity in faculty, staff, and students.
Goal 3: The College will produce a globally-aware workforce with demonstrated technical and leadership skills.
Goal 4: The College will foster an environment that promotes innovation and collaboration.
Goal 5: The College will be a leader in targeted research areas critical to the nation’s health, security, economy and education.
Goal 6: The College will support knowledge-based economic development in the State of South Carolina.
Goal 7: The College will cultivate and strategically allocate resources to build infrastructure that empowers growth of people and programs.
