Mike Mendonca rejoined the Clemson faculty in August 2014 and is responsible for advising students in the School of Accountancy. In May 2011 he retired as a Colonel after serving 28 years in the US Air Force. He has commanded multiple units to include two Air Refueling Squadrons supporting combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. His last Air Force assignment was at Clemson University from 2008-2011. During this assignment he commanded the Air Force ROTC Detachment and was the Professor of Aerospace Studies. During his Air Force career, Mike was a KC-10A instructor pilot and has flight time in the T-37B, T-38A, KC-135A/R, C-17A and C-5B aircraft. After his retirement from the USAF, he flew the Boeing 747-400 for National Airlines, delivering food and equipment into various air bases in Afghanistan in support of US and coalition forces.
