Christmas Eve is the thirteenth declared state holiday. In years past, the Governor had the authority to grant this 13th holiday. Effective July 1, 2009 the state law which required Governor authorization was repealed. The state law now declares Christmas Eve a holiday for this year and all future years.
New Year’s Day has been submitted as the first holiday for 2010. Once approved, the 2010 holiday schedule will be announced university-wide.
